MAT Studios designed an immersive qualitative and quantitative consumer research experience for 100 participants over the course of 1 week. Hosted in an exclusive location, it combined education with a hybrid of mixology and ‘Masterchef’ gathering data at every step. In addition to formulation ideas and concepts, we gathered ingredient and flavor trends and matches (and a lot more) to create a detailed output guide to audience tastes and wants. Anonymized participant opinions, persona profiles and video interviews added to the detailed picture.

In-depth interviews and scenario reactions to build behavioral profiles.
Based on hypotheses from previous consumer research data collection, we designed and delivered a two-stage interview process, based on answer-related participant journeys. Qualitative collection involving media, immersion rooms and the creation of contributory environments (including a ‘radio show’ setup for interviews). Post-collection analysis of data to create a predictive behavioral matrix for further testing to fuel consumer-product matching.
Multi-country study of consumer perceptions and preferences around a specific product trait.
A full and detailed qualitative/ quantitative consumer research project, utilizing a full creative research, product sampling and experiential approach, standardized across locations for comparison. 100 participants per country, with one-week immersive exploration in each location and ethnographic study on 10% of participants. Set up in immersive social-style locations to mirror a speed-dating environment.
Corporate-consumer co-creation to gather data and translate it into validated ideas for product development.
Conducting internal brainstorming around scientific and technology possibilities, ideating around these and taking the ideas to panels of targeted audience members in multiple focus, conversations and co-creation sessions.
